Carter Hearing From Several

COLLEGE PARK, MD - NJ DE Chris Carter has been hearing from several schools, including Maryland.

With a name like Chris Carter, there is a lot to live up to on the football field. Bridgewater (N.J.) Raritan High defensive end Chris Carter attended Maryland's one-day camp, hoping to impress the coaching staff with more than just his name.

"I have been talking to them since right after the season," Carter said. "They said I look great on film and Coach Dudzinski came to watch me work out at my school."

The 6-foot-4, 240-pound pass rusher did not pick up a Maryland offer at camp, but he isn't ready to close the door on the Terps yet.

"Coach Dudzinski he said I did well and they want to stay in touch," Carter said. "If they offer I would definitely be very interested but I will just have to see how things play out."

Carter's made his first trip to College Park for camp, so he has not had much time to check out the campus, but he does know a thing or two about Maryland's program.

"I think I would have to come back to see some more of the campus and stuff. I think they have pretty good academics, and I know they are moving to the Big Ten," Carter. "It is not too far from me so it wouldn't be too hard to come back down if I want."

In addition to Maryland, Carter said he is also hearing from Michigan State, Temple, Syracuse, and Rutgers. He already holds offers from UMass and Buffalo, and he hopes a few of other interested parties extend an offer as well.

"I have visited pretty much every school I have heard from and I have been doing a lot of camps," Carter said. "I feel like I have been doing well at the camps, so I could pick up a few more offers."

"Most schools are looking at me more on the inside defensive line, like a 3 technique," Carter said. "I have a good motor and I get to the quarterback. I really work on my pass rush technique and I am quick off the ball."
