COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- This Connecticut two-way senior lineman trekked to Maryland for the first time for the Terps 'Big Show' event last week, and he came away impressed and hoping for an offer.
Suffield Academy (Suffield, Conn.) 2015 lineman Michael Yerardi liked camp and school after arriving with his father for the one-day event in Byrd Stadium.
"It was great, had a lot of fun, and learned a lot of new stuff," Yerardi said. "Had a great time at the camp and the coaches coached me up on everything I need to learn."
So far, the 6-foot-4, 307-pounder has offers from UMass, ODY and New Hampshire, and is looking for more.
Terps inside linebackers coach Keith Dudzinski is his area recruiter.
"I came down here to work out in front of them, they wanted me to to see how I do. Coach [Greg Studrawa] wasn't here, so I worked out mostly for the tight ends coach, Coach [John] Dunn," Yerardi said.
So far, Maryland, BC and UConn have gotten camp visits from Yerardi in the last few weeks.
"I am hoping to get more offers, obviously, and Maryland is still in the process they said," Yerardi said. "It's still an on-going process, maybe somewhere down the line like mid-season possibly. I play offense and defense right now, and I am trying to work on my technique more for offense now. But I play both. But today I learned to keep my elbows in more, things like that, as an offensive lineman."
Yerardi enjoyed the campus tour just as well, and said he loves the academics.
"I am going to try to major in business or economics," Yerardi said. "And Maryland like some of the other schools is great in academics."
In July, he has Penn State, Rutgers and Vanderbilt visits coming up. He said he is about to hear back from UConn on an offer or not.
But he was another new face/name that came to town for the Terps first annual 'Big Show,' which attracted top prospects from as far as Texas and Florida.
