Ahmad To Visit WVU

The West Virginia mens basketball coaching staff is readying to host a top prospect for the class of 2015 this weekend.

Shaker Heights (Oh.) power forward Esa Ahmad will visit West Virginia this weekend, his father confirmed to BlueGoldNews.com.

The 6-foot-8, Scout.com four-star prospect, plans to arrive in Morgantown on Friday and attend the Mountaineers' football home opener against Towson on Saturday.

Ahmad recently trimmed his list of schools down to five — West Virginia, Maryland, Ohio State, Wisconsin and Oregon. This past weekend Esa and his father visited Maryland and have a tentative official visit date with Wisconsin set for September 20. A final decision is expected at the end of September or early October.

Ahmad is currently rated by Scout.com as the No. 48 player overall and the No. 8 power forward in the class of 2015.

BlueGoldNews.com will have further updates at the conclusion of his weekend visit.
