COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Maryland hoops coach Mark Turgeon addressed the media ahead of the UMD-Bowie State exhibition game Nov. 8 at noon at the XFinity Center. Turgeon said freshmen Melo Trimble, Jared Nickens and Dion Wiley played well during the Nov. 1 exhibition, and he expects them to continue taking strides Nov. 8. He also said the team's overall defense continues to improve, while the offense is coming along, though the Terps need to make progress in this area before the regular season begins Nov. 14. Turgeon discussed Michal Cekovsky, Jake Layman and Evan Smotrycz as well.
