COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Heading into the 7:35 p.m. season-opener Nov. 14 against Wagner, Maryland head coach Mark Turgeon said the Terps are "pretty far along" and have improved a good amount since the summer. Turgeon said his team still needs to pick it up defensively and with rebounding, but he likes the progress he's seen from the guys. The headman also talked about how the front court has come along with Damonte Dodd, Michal Cekovsky and Jon Graham, as well as new stretch-4 Jake Layman, and the freshmen trio's improvement as well.
