Baltimore Tip-Off Classic Eval: Kobie Eubanks

Here is an evaluation of wing Kobie Eubanks from the Baltimore Tip-Off Classic at St. Frances (Baltimore, Md.).

Player: Kobie Eubanks
School: Elev8 Prep (Delray Beach, Fla.)
Position: SG/SF
Height: 6-5
Class: 2015

Eubanks recently de-committed from Baylor, and is wide open now in terms of picking his next destination. Would he help Maryland? The answer is yes. Some might say that with Dion Wiley and Jared Nickens on board, why would the Terps need another wing marksman? Well, players get hurt, they go into slumps, and as long as folks keep score, I personally want all the shooters I can get.

Eubanks, however, is not just a standstill jump shooter. He creates well off the bounce, and can score at all three levels -- at the basket, mid-range, and from long range. As an athlete, he's very good, combining strength, good hops, and enough quickness to get the job done. In fact, he had one throw down against Mt. Zion Prep (Baltimore, Md.) that would make a high school highlight reel.

Eubanks is not an exceptional rebounder or defender, but holds his own, while letting the game come to him offensively. It's known he wants to get playing time early, so perhaps with Wiley, Nickens, and Layman all on board, the Terps may not get serious consideration. That said, he'd be an awfully good spring pickup, and he'd find a way to get on the court.

Most consider Eubanks a top 100 prospect, and a four-star recruit.
