COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Maryland head coach Mark Turgeon discussed the No. 14 Terps' 73-65 victory against Rutgers Jan. 14 at the Xfinity Center. Turgeon said his team gutted out the win and played well defensively, but noted how the team has to be more mentally prepared. He mentioned that his guys had to "relax" down the stretch, and they did so, executing the offense more efficiently. Turgeon lauded Jared Nickens' 3-point shooting, as well as Dez Wells' clutch plays as well. He said UMD didn't make many great basketball plays, but the Terps made "enough to win."
