Maryland head coach Mark Turgeon addressed the media following the Terps' 80-56 loss at Ohio State. Here's what he had to say:

Opening Statement

I want to credit Ohio State. I thought they were terrific on the defensive end, and in the second half they were great offensively. They shared the ball well, made shots.

For some reason we just weren't any good tonight. We didn't have it -- didn't have it at all tonight. We could never get it going; I'll take the blame for that. We just ... weren't tough enough tonight and we didn't make shots and it kind of affected our whole game.

On Permiter Defense And Shutting Down D'Angelo Russell

I don't know, Russell is pretty special, especially when he's making tough shots over hands. He's a special player, and we'll see that as he moves on through his career. We just didn't have it tonight. Give them credit.

On Mood After OSU Game Compared To Indiana Loss

It was a lot different. At Indiana I thought we played pretty well. Tonight we just never had it.

On OSU Out-Rebounding UMD

We just really weren't tough tonight. They were tougher than we were I don't know if I've ever had a team get out-rebounded like that. I doubt it. My teams usually rebound.

On Freshmen Fatigue

I don't think so. I don't think so.

Does This Just Happen Sometimes?

Yeah. You have to give them credit. Ohio State has a heck of a team. We just weren't very good. I hope it's an aberration. The good thing for us is we have a bye before our next game, we have six days, so there's time to get better.
