TOWSON, Md. -- Maryland head coach John Tillman hit a home run when he persuaded Gonzaga's (Washington, D.C.) Timmy Monahan to become a Terp. Monahan was the best in the Washington Catholic League earning Player of the Year honors. He led his Zags to an 18-3 record and the conference championship. His 64 goals and 23 assists were tops in the league. Monahan was an obvious All-Met selection and was a no brainer to be an Under Armour All-American. Monahan took time to talk about his future in College Park, Md., at the UA AA presser on July 2.
