Maryland head coach D.J. Durkin conducted a teleconference Dec. 20 before his team headed to Detroit for the Quick Lane Bowl Dec. 26 against Boston College. Below is the transcript:

On Roman Braglio In His Final Year

Roman has had a very consistent season for us. He's been more productive in some games than others. He had the injury early on, but he's really played hard and been a good leader for us.

On Perry Hills' Status

This is as healthy he has been in a long, long time. The Nebraska game he played, and the Rutgers game he didn't hurt anything. Now he's been practicing and working out and he's played as well as we could expect of him in the offense.

On Boston College

The biggest thing is they do a great job at the line of scrimmage and have a great run defense. They're style of play on offense is really run the ball and really come at you. Games are won and lost at the line of scrimmage, and we have to play well on both sides of the ball to win.

[BC] also has one of the most dynamic pass rushers in the country in Harold Landry, and when you have to throw the ball on 3rd-and-long and there's a one-on-one situation, you have to plan for that. Matchup-wise, that's a big one to watch on the line of scrimmage in this game.

On What Extra Practices Means For Team

It's big. We're a young team and played 16 true freshmen this year, and of those true freshmen only one or two had mid-year or spring practices. So to get the extra practices, it kind of serves as [the freshmen's] spring ball. We've approached it that way, and we're practicing in a way we're continuing to develop the basic fundamentals of guys by position. That's really a big part of building a program.

On LoLo Harrison and DJ Turner Status

We're still going through the process. No update at this time.
