Several new offers for FL WR

Recruiting has picked up just a bit for Lafayette (FL) wide receiver Marcus Edwards in the past few months, including several new offers on the plate. He plans to stay wide open, and has a few unofficial visits on the docket.

"I am open right now, but I have offers from Maryland, Central Florida, South Florida, South Carolina, Middle Tennessee State, East Carolina, Wake Forest, and Stanford," says the 5-foot-11, 165 pounder. "I have not set up an official visits, but I am going to some games to see different schools."

Edwards, who was rated as the number 12 overall player in TheInsiders.com and Larry Blustein'sFlorida preseason top-100, calls himself more of a possession receiver with hands like a vice.

"I don't have that burning 4.2 speed like some other guys, but if you throw it my way, I will catch it."

As for his visit list in the next few weeks, Edwards plans to see several teams not on his offer list.

"I am going this weekend to the Florida/Mississippi game, then the Florida State/Miami game after that. I already went to the Florida/Miami game and the FSU/Colorado game before that."

Named first-team All-State as a junior, his team's strong start could hurt a return attempt to that honor as Edwards has only played both halves of just one game. Unfortunately that was the one game his 3-1 team lost.
