Herrod happy with five
"My favorites are NC State, Virginia Tech, Syracuse, Michigan State, and Maryland," says the 5-foot-11, 180 pounder. "I do not have any favorites between those. I am waiting until the season is over to look at having a favorite or setting up official visits.
"All the schools have shown they would like to have me on their team. Most of the coaches tell me that I can help them early on, and I want to do that."
Herrod, who claims offers from all of the schools, except Virginia Tech which has given him a verbal offer, has his team at 5-3 on the year.
"We won on Friday 50-0 against Spingarn. This year, I have 40 tackles and three interceptions though. Teams are running away from me."
Once the season is over, Herrod will have to fit all of his visits in a short period of time, and he knows what he wants to look for while on campus.
"I want to see if they have my major, what the environment is like and see if I can adapt to it. Going far doesn't matter to me, but the weather does. I like it somewhere between hot and cold."
Herrod plans to major in either computer engineering or electrical engineering
