Travis Garrison, a McDonald's All-American

Maryland bound Travis Garrison has been selected to play in the McDonald's All-American high school all-star game, April 4 at Madison Square Garden.

Garrison is averaging 17.6 points, and is the first player to represent a local high school in the all-star game since DeMatha's Keith Bogans and Joseph Forte headlined the squad in 1999 before heading off to Kentucky and North Carolina.

Travis Garrison is the 10th DeMatha player to be named to the McDonald's all-star game. Garrison is the only player headed to Maryland to be named to the all-star game, but the other three are highly ranked and are among the top 100 recruits according to most recruiting experts across the country.

The other three signees that will join Gary Williams basketball team next fall are 6'4" shooting guard Chris McCray, 6'7" small forward Nik Caner-Medley and 6'2" guard John Gilchrist.
