Maryland Set For Last Step Towards Championship

Juan Dixon to Lonny Baxter to Steve Blake to Gary Williams these Terrapins are ready to play. With so much pressure on these guys to bring home a championship it wonders to me how they can put up with all the media everyday for a week.

Now with only a few hours til tonights match-up the Maryland players are taking there last few thoughts on how hard they worked to get to this point, this was just not a one year goal this has been the goal for Maryland and Gary Williams not for two years but since Williams arrived in College park in 1989. "We realize we're this close," said junior backup guard Drew Nicholas, holding his thumb and index finger an inch apart. "This has been such a goal for us all year. It's been our destination. You have to dream about games like this. This is the big one. If we play our brand of basketball, it's tough for anyone to hang with us."

It couldnt of happend to a better coach and program, it just amazes me how before last years final four Maryland had never gotten to the final four.
