Today, Scout.com is pleased to announce that Mike Hogan will officially join the team, and serve as the primary content provider for the Maryland site on the network. Hogan will cover basketball and football recruiting, as well as provide analysis on the Terp sports program. In-depth interviews with prospects. Evaluating both football and basketball talent. Answering questions and providing inside information. Attending AAU tournaments and Scout.com combines. Hogan will focus on bringing Maryland fans information that they will not get anywhere else.
“I’ve always loved Maryland sports and had a unique interest in the aspect of recruiting. Scout.com approached me about this opportunity to cover just that and felt that I was the right guy for the job. I thought this was a great opportunity to cover something I love to follow anyway so I jumped on it. Not only will I be covering Maryland Terrapin athletics, but Scout will be using me to assist in evaluating talent, and providing video in the greater Maryland/DC/Northern VA area. I’ll be working with football recruiting experts Bob Lichtenfels and Miller Safrit. Fans know Safrit, and the addition of Bob Lichtenfels to the coverage makes for an unbelieveable team. Bob currently covers recruiting for Scout for Penn State, Pitt, Notre Dame, Ohio State and West Virginia. Now that he’s added Maryland, Terp fans are in for a treat”
In addition to the deep football recruiting team, Hogan will have support on the basketball side from Dave Telep and Mike Sullivan. “Sullivan and Telep are legends in the industry. To be able to draw upon them for information and their opinions on players gives Maryland fans a unique opportunity to get great coverage from true experts”
“It’s a great opportunity for Scout.com, Mike, and Maryland fans,” said Joel Cox, VP of Marketing for Scout.com. “It’s great for Scout.com because arguably no one is more passionate about Terrapin athletics than Mike Hogan. It’s a great opportunity for Mike because here’s a guy who has built up a wealth of credibility in his ability to provide analysis and evaluation, and now has a chance to earn a living doing what he loves to do. Finally, it’s wonderful for Maryland fans as Mike is a tireless worker, and is driven by a passion for the subject matter that is unmatched. Once Mike gets in and gets his feet wet, Maryland fans are in for a veritable avalanche of information,” said Cox.
Hogan will begin covering the Terrapins immediately with analysis of the 2006 Terp football recruiting class, 2007 prospects, and gearing up for the basketball recruiting season that begins in the next month or two.
