Dominique Herald Commits

The University of Maryland picked up its fifth football verbal commitment for the 2007 class earlier today when three-star New Jersey safety Dominique Herald pulled the trigger and committed to play for the Terrapins.

"They were the first school to show a lot of interest in me from the beginning," Herald said. "They were the first school to offer me. All the coaches, not just coach Donovan who recruited me, but all the coaches showed a lot of interest in me like they wanted me there whenever I visited."

"There was really no reason for me not to commit [to Maryland]. It's like the perfect school for me. It's not too far and it's not too close. If my mom or anyone wanted to come see me play they could be there in two and a half hours."

We'll have more later from talking to Herald.
