... have started games and logged plenty of minutes. Hopefully the OL will stay healthy so most of the OL recruits can redshirt. Some need to lose weight and gain muscle, while others need to add bulk in general. A year in the weight room before they hit the field and of going up against the top defensive linemen in daily practices will help all of them.

Even after signing seven OL types this year, the Terps might be well-advised to sign 4 top OL.


Vinston Painter, Norfolk, VA: 6'6" 305 pounds … TERP Offer … 1st team All Tidewater, 22 pancake blocks. On defense, had 23 tackles. Could wind up being the best lineman to come out of South Hampton Roads since Levi Brown, now an All-American at Penn State and a soon-to-be NFL player. One of top five juniors in Virginia. Considered by many to be the top offensive lineman at the 2007 U.S. Army Combine in San Antonio. .First-Team AAA All-State and First-Team Orlando Sentinel All-Southern highlight his many junior honors…….Had 22 pancake blocks on offense and 23 tackles on defense as a junior……….. Tremendous combination of strength and quickness… Great build, decent height and effective both as a pass blocker and run blocker.

Charles "Chaz" Thompson Teaneck, NJ 6'3" 290# 1st team All County 3rd team All State 1st team All North NJ. In spot duty along the defensive front, Thompson also registered 64 tackles

Greg Shaw Miami, FL 6'6" 270# 1st team All State 3A 1st team Dade Co. Had 72 pancake blocks, only two sacks allowed.

Dalton Freeman Pelion, SC 6'6" 260# 1st team All State Graded 89 percent or above in each game of Pelion's region championship season.

He has started for three years for the Blue Devils.
