Top Terp Target Chambers Shines at Florida

Harmony, Fla., wideout-safety O'Neill Chambers has some of the most impressive film of any Terps target and has Maryland in his top two. But the explosive 6-foot-3 playmaker visited Florida's ‘Friday Night Lights' this weekend and UF's coaches told him to expect an offer soon. So will Chambers, who has said he'd like to leave Florida for college, be looking more closely at the Gators?

"Not that much," he told Terp Sports Report. "It's still the same. I'm just keeping my eyes open."

Chambers currently lists BYU as his No. 1 choice because he likes the strict program and the wide-open passing attack. Meanwhile, eh's been to Maryland twice already and is seriously considering the Terps as well.

"It's a really good school and it's right next to a big city. Washington, D.C., is right there," said Chambers, who also has offers from Texas Tech, South Carolina, Houston and Mississippi State. "Their math program is pretty good; it's in the top ten I believe."

Chambers is a powerful hitter and a big-time threat with the ball in his hands, as evidenced his three special touchdowns apiece on special teams and defense last year. Florida and most others are looking at him as a wideout, while Maryland likes him at safety.

"It really doesn't matter to me as long as I'm playing," he said.

Despite receiving a lot of attention from Florida's staff, including head coach Urban Meyer, Chambers said nothing has changed.

"Maryland is still my No. 2," he said.

And there's plenty of time for the Terps to make a move; he doesn't plan on committing until National Signing Day.
