Fla. Safety Has Terps in Top Four

With a double-digit list of scholarship offers and several more schools perhaps close to offering, Saint Augustine (Fla.) safety Rashard Hall has no lack of options. But Hall has come up with a list of four favorites of the schools who have offered – Maryland, Lousiville, West Virginia and Mississippi State.

"One thing about Maryland I really like is the academics. They have a really good business program," said Hall, a 6-foot-2, 176-pound rising senior who recorded 61 tackles, seven interceptions and three forced fumbles as a junior.

"Coach Al [Seamonson] is recruiting me. He's a really cool guy," Hall said. "I look at [Maryland's recent production of NFL defensive backs] also. That shows you they know what they're doing. And it's looks good for me to compete for early playing time."

Hall also has heavy interest from Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt, but no offers yet. He's done taking visits for the summer but will take more this fall. He's not sure how many he'll take, though he plans on making it to College Park. And he has a refreshing view on the recruiting process.

"I'm not somebody who is going to take visits just to take visits. If I go somewhere that I feel like it's the right place for me and the best fit, then that's probably where I'll [commit]," he said.

Hall has a reputation as a big hitter and a ballhawk.

"I'd say my biggest strength is my awareness. People tell me that when the ball is in the air, I watch the receiver watching the ball. When the ball is [up for grabs] I turn into a receiver," he said. "And my closing speed."

Hall also could end up at wide receiver, though it seems most likely Maryland would like him at safety. Stay tuned to TSR and Scout.com this fall as Hall's recruitment unfolds …
