With the addition of some terrific freshman this year such as John Gilchrist, Travis Garrison, Nik Caner-Medley, Chris McCray and junior transfer Jamar Smith this year's team could be one of the most exciting and athletic Gary Williams has had. The Terrapin men's basketball team will open the 2002-03 season alongside the Terps' women's team at midnight on Oct. 12. Midnight Madness activities begin at 10:45 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11.
Maryland's Midnight Madness
With the unvieling of a national championship and a new on-campus basketball arena this could possible be the most anticipated basketball season at Maryland ever. Ya we may not have 5 returning starters in hopes of returning to the final four, no we are not the favorite by any means to get back to the final four, but all the hype now is that Maryland Basketball has arrived. Finally all the Gary Williams and Maryland doubters can be silenced. He has brought home the hardware to College Park and a coaching dream has been fullfiled for Gary, now the tough part is to keep it going at full speed.
