Derrick Thomas Eyeing Terps?
Thomas, the No. 43 cornerback in the nation according to Scout.com, continues to look around and will strongly consider Maryland along with Penn State, Tennessee, Pittsbrugh, Illinois and Rutgers, said his father, John Anderson. Anderson confirmed the rumors we'd been hearing about his son's continued interest in the Terps.
"There's definitely some truth to it. Nothing is set in stone. The Terps are definitely on his list," he said. "He's not committed [to Penn State]. Verbally committed, I don't know, but he's 17 years old so I wouldn't want him to jump out there and make a decision for the next four years. He's exploring all of his options."
Anderson said he'd like his son to take at least a few official visits before making a choice, and that Maryland would likely be one of them.
"But," he said, "I'm just a parent and he is the one who is going to be making the decision, so it's up to him to see the campuses and [evaluate] the environments."
The talk of Thomas' continued interest in Maryland was restarted last week when we spoke to his Roosevelt teammate Isaiah Ross, a Terps commitment.
"We might have another one coming. I know he's thinking about it hard," Ross said. "I'm going to stay in his ear."
As always, TSR will keep you posted …
