Terps heading to the Big Dance

Maryland was in wait and see mode Sunday as the Selection Committee announced their choices for this years NCAA Tournament.

After defeating NC State and upsetting Wake Forest in the ACC Tournament, Maryland put up a good fight against the Duke Blue Devils in the semifinals. Unfortunately, Maryland fell short and was left hoping to hear their names called Sunday when the brackets were announced for the NCAA Tournament.

Fortunately for the Terps, they heard their name in the West bracket and will take on the #7 seed California Golden Bears from the Pac-10. The Bears finished the season 22-10 and had big wins over Arizona State, USC, and swept Washington and Arizona. Cal is led by junior Jerome Randle (18.4 ppg) and junior Patrick Christopher (14.6 ppg).

The Terps will take on Cal on Thursday in Kansas City. The winner will take on the Memphis/Cal St. Northridge winner.
