Interview with C Will Regan

Will Regan talks about the recruiting process with TSR.

How has the recruiting process gone so far?

It's been pretty good, I have been associated with great coaches and schools which has been great. I have great coaches to lead me through the process to help guide me. My dad has been a big help, he played basketball at the Division-III level in college and he already went through it with my sister who plays Division-I ball in the MAAC.

Which schools have offered you so far?

I can't remember them all right now, but, Michigan, Arizona State, Maryland, Penn State, Providence, Virginia Tech, Fordham, Oregon State, Stanford, and Auburn, but it's predicated on academics.

What do you like about the aformentioned schools?

Michigan- I like the coaching staff, the school itself, and it has solid academics. The team seemed genuine and I could really get along with them and play with them.

Arizona State- The coaching staff was also a great draw. The system they run and the school were both appealing.

Stanford- It's all about the coaches and at the schools I mentioned that's a common theme. I liked the Stanford coaches and they were great people. I could see myself playing for them and they have great academics.

Maryland- The assistant coaches Chuck Driesell and Robbie Ehsan were the most fun I had on my official visits.

How long has Maryland been recruiting you?

They started last AAU season in April. They came to a few tournaments and after Gary Williams saw me play, they offered me in May. They had me down for an unofficial visit and I saw them play in November. They were the first major school to offer me, which holds a special spot, they had the confidence to go ahead and offer me early.

Maryland's lack of size was the achilles heal of the team. How could you help change that?

I play a combo of what Singler and Hansbrough do, but not to their level yet. I can shoot which is something not many people know because in AAU I play as a big and down low primarily. I can finish in the paint. I am an elusive and smart center in the position where I can get a pass from say Vasquez and finish or I can post up and finish.

TSR thanks Will Regan for taking the time to speak with us. We look forward to keeping in touch with him.
