2010 Hoops Prospect Talks Favorites

2010 Hoops prospect Justin Jackson talks to TSR about recruiting.

While the AAU season may not have gone as well as he had hoped last season, things have begun to turn around this summer for Justin Jackson.

The 6-foot-8 power forward from Montverde Academy says he has been having a strong summer basketball wise and has seen his recruitment pick up.

Missouri, Cincinnati, Maryland, Miami, Florida State, and UCLA are all schools pursuing the three-star forward, but he says two schools really stick out at this point.

“Missouri and Cincinnati,” Jackson said about which schools were his favorites. “Missouri likes to run a lot on the court and I really like their coaches. Cincinnati is a good school in the Big East and I like their coaches a lot too.”

One of the major things that will influence his decision is the tempo that the program runs. He is very interested in a program that installs a fast tempo offense because he thinks it complements his skills the best.

“I can really run,” he said. “I'm a fast pace player and that's what I'm looking for in a school.”

The Florida native anticipates making a decision in October, but only after he has visited his two favorites, as well as Maryland and Miami. Jackson really likes both of those schools for similar reasons.

“I really like the team chemistry with both teams,” he stated. “Both have great coaches and both of them talk to me a lot. I know that both coaches would have my back.”

Right now he says he is mostly just working on improving his dribbling and shooting to become a more well-rounded player.

“I'm taking a lot of shots in practice and working on trying to dribble through traffic,” he said. “It's my senior year so I will do anything it takes to win.”
