Young Keeping His Options Open

TSR's Danny Miller recently caught up with Louis Young about his recruiting process.

Louis Young currently holds a verbal commitment to Stanford University, but nothing is set in stone. The 4-star wide receiver recruit from Olney, Maryland is keeping his options open and still has many schools on his mind.

Maryland, Virginia Tech, Boston College, Illinois, and Iowa are among the teams Young is considering. The bulk of his choices are in the ACC conference because Young has taken a liking to it.

“It's a tough conference, a popular conference, which means exposure, so I'm attracted to that,” Young said about the ACC.

Louis Young spent his past two weekends at the University of Maryland watching the Terps kick off the season. However the Terps poor performance has had a negative effect on Young. He mentioned that a successful season is a very important part of his choice, and a poor start does not bode well for Maryland.

“That's more exposure going into the next season, success always means more exposure, so, that's definitely key in my decision,” Young said.

Not only is success important to Louis Young, but school location also plays a factor. Young attends Our Lady Good Counsel High School, located in Olney, Maryland. His verbal commit is across country at Stanford in California. This seems to be the only negative aspect.

“If Stanford was where Maryland is, that'd be great,” Young said when asked about location.

Young says the best aspects of his game are speed, breaking to the ball, and making defenders miss. He still plans on visiting more schools and will keep his options open before making the big decision.
