Terps Early Favorite For 2011 Prospect

2011 prospect Kyle Harris has Maryland at the top of his list of schools he is interested in.

Pepperell High School standout Kyle Harris is a player on the rise. Harris, only a junior, has received interest from many big time programs such as the University of Florida, Florida State University, the University of Georgia and Vanderbilt University. He recently received his first scholarship offer from the University of Maryland.

Harris is currently looking for “great academics, good coaches, and an overall great school. “I haven't set a timetable on any decision,” Harris said. “I want to see how the rest of the process plays out.”

However, Harris did mention that Maryland was an early favorite. “ Maryland is definitely at the top. I talk to Maryland on a pretty regular basis.”

As a 6'4 and 265 lbs offensive lineman, he believes he is strong at pass protection as well as run blocker because of his “good feet and quick first step.”

Harris also attributes much of his development to his offensive line coach, Zach Battles. “He helps me work on my footwork and stays after practice with me to work on my game.”

The up and coming player feels he needs to increase his, “size and strength as well as staying low when coming off the ball to compete at the collegiate level.”

He currently plays offensive tackle for the Pepperell Dragons, but Harris is preparing himself for potentially playing guard or center at the in college. As Harris grows in the coming year, he will be a player to watch out for.
