Rahsaan Moore- A Coaches Take

TSR checked in with Coach Parrish from Wise HS to get his take on Terps commit Rahsaan Moore.

Ever since Maryland commitment Rahsaan Moore transferred from DeMatha High School to Dr. Wise A. Jr. High School his sophomore year his coach, DeLawn Parrish, has been impressed. “ When he first came out he was a hard worker. We didn't know where to play him. He started at fullback and defensive line. Fullback was a little difficult for him, but he never complained. He wanted to play anywhere he could. He blossomed on the defensive line. He was very good at communicating with us about what was going on. By his senior year he was all over the field. “

Coach Parrish had nothing but great things to say about Rahsaan's natural ability, but Coach Parrish had even more positive remarks about his mental ability. “He is a smart player. He knows the game really well. Since he has played on both sides of the ball he is able to understand what the other team is trying to do.” Rahsaan's mental and physical abilities led Coach Parrish to label Rahsaan his “leader and captain of the team. He never complained and always worked hard.”

Coach Parrish said the Maryland coaching staff was always interested in Rahsaan and they were really impressed with his athleticism. Parrish believes Maryland is a good place for Rahsaan to continue his football career. “Maryland is place where he has always wanted to go. The only question is where he is going to play. I would like to see him play defensive line to use his natural ability, but he is definitely able to play fullback as long as he continues to improve. If he grows into his body he will definitely succeed. Maryland is also a good fit for him academically. He is a great student. It will also be great for him because him family will be close by so he will have a good support system.”

The sky is the limit for this Dr. Wise A. Jr. High School product, Rahsaan Moore. His athleticism will make him a valuable asset to the Terrapin football team this upcoming season and many to come.
