Young Down To Three

2011 linebacker/safety Antoine Young has narrowed his list of schools to three.

Suitland High School (Forestville, MD) linebacker/safety Antoine Young has narrowed his list of schools to three. The 5'11'', 200 pounder is deciding between Maryland, Rutgers, and Virginia, although he currently does not have an offer from them.

Young's plan is to visit all three schools to see where he is most comfortable. A trip to the University of Maryland could be coming soon, though. Young is planning on visiting College Park on March 3rd, as Young would like to see the Terps basketball team battle the Duke Blue Devils on Senior Night.

Young is not only drawn to the Terps because of their basketball team. He is impressed with the defense Defensive Coordinator Don Brown runs, despite Maryland ranking 11th out of the twelve ACC schools in total defense last year.

“I like their defense. I went to one of their games against Rutgers early in the season, and I liked their defensive schemes,” said Young. “I also like how they're starting to recruit more inside the state so I've got a chance to play with all the stars I used to play against in my high school career.”

Maryland's recruiting approach has also impressed Young. Head Coach-in-waiting James Franklin has been in frequent contact with Young, trying to sell him on the Terps. However, there are more factors that could help lure Young to the Terps.

“Playing time and their weight program are big deals,” Young said. “Education is key too, because I want to major in psychology, so that's got to be one of their top major programs.”

The Maryland Terrapins are in good company with Antoine Young, another potential piece to repairing the Terps defense. James Franklin has done a solid job in bringing Maryland into Young's final three. If he can deliver Young's signature as well, the Terps will be in good shape.
