2011 Intro- Matt Massello

TSR catches up with 2011 tight end prospect Matt Massello.

Without any scholarship offers at this point, Archbishop Wood Catholic (Pa.) prospect Matt Massello is still in the early stages of the recruiting process.

However, that does not mean that schools have not expressed interest in Massello.

“I got a couple letters from Kansas, and I got invited to junior day at Buffalo,” said the 6-foot 220-pound 2011 prospect.

Massello has not heard much from Maryland recently, but he does have ties to the Terps.

“I went to Maryland football camp,” said Massello who says he continues to receive letters for attending the camp in the summer.

Massello has played tight end and defensive end in his career at Archbishop Wood Catholic, but he is looking to try his hand at a new position at the next level.

“I really want to play fullback. I'm working in the offseason to get faster,” said Massello, who said he also wants to get stronger in the offseason.

No matter what position Massello plays, he sees himself as player that his teammates look up to.

“A leader,” said Massello in describing himself. “I'm pretty good at getting everybody together, getting everybody fired up.”

As a junior, Massello may continue to hear from more schools interested in his services.
