Bello Playing the Waiting Game

2011 prospect Deuce Bello is hearing from a lot of schools but is in no rush to make a decision.

Deuce Bello, a 2011 prospect, has been on the radar of many college coaches for quite some time. Bello is a 6'3 165 pound four-star recruit from Westchester Academy in High Point, North Carolina. His athleticism leads many people to believe he can play multiple positions at the next level.

Bello had a little set back this past season due to a fractured bone he suffered from a fall early in the year. Although he was injured, Bello continued to play through the pain for half of the season and he put up great numbers. He averaged 20 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 blocks per game earning him All-State and All-Conference honors.

Despite the injury many big programs are still working hard to recruit Bello. “I am hearing from Wake Forest, Clemson, Florida State, Miami, N.C. State, Virginia Tech, Baylor, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Duke, and Maryland. I have offers from all of those schools except from Duke.”

Bello also said that all schools are even in his decision-making. He has already visited Louisville, Tennessee, Duke, Wake Forest, Clemson, and plans on visiting Maryland soon.

For Maryland, Assistant Coach Rob Ehsan is leading the recruitment of Bello. “They said I could come in and play right away. They like my athleticism, quickness, and my speed.”

Everything is still up in the air for Bello when it comes to his remaining visits. He plans to sit down with his mother soon to determine the criteria he will use to select his future school. For now, he will take his time and patiently wait out the rest of his recruiting process.
