Visit to College Park Vaults Terps to Top 3

After his visit to College Park, lineman Alan Posey (Athens, Georgia) put Maryland in his top three.

Before his visit to College Park, Clarke Central High School (Athens, Georgia) product Alan Posey was sorting through offers from Georgia Tech, Clemson, Maryland, Cincinnati, West Virginia, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Illinois, Louisville, East Carolina, Purdue, and LSU. However, the recruiting picture of the 6'5”, 323 pound lineman looks much clearer now, as Posey put the Terps in his top three schools after his weekend visit to the University of Maryland. At this point, Maryland seems to be competing with Tennessee and Clemson for the signature of Posey, who will make his decision on May 4.

One of the reasons that Posey is so fond of the Terps is because of his relationship with Maryland Offensive Line Coach Tom Brattan. Posey spent much of his visit with Bratton, which may have helped place the Terps in Posey's top three schools.

“There was always something about Maryland that I liked, but this improved the way I thought of them. When I first met Coach (Tom) Bratton in January when he came to my school, we hit it off. He is one of the best coaches in the country and we have a good relationship.,” said Posey. “Going up there (Maryland), I had a lot of my questions answered that will help me in my decision. I also got to check out the Comcast Center with Coach Bratton.”

Posey is an intriguing prospect for the Terps. He has massive size for an offensive lineman, and could help improve the Terps' recent offensive line struggles. Posey really enjoyed his visit, and the Terps now have a good chance at landing the offensive lineman. The Terps will find out on May 4th if their visit was enough to land Posey.
