Maryland Junior Day Attendee Receives Offer

2011 tight end/defensive end prospect Kevin Miller picked up his first offer.

For tight end/defensive end recruit Kevin Miller, the opportunity to attend Maryland's junior day was a great one. “It was awesome. It was a great experience. I got to meet all the coaches, I got to meet with my position coach, and it was great to see all the facilities and everything they have to offer there.”

Not only did Miller get invited down to Maryland's junior day, he also recently received a scholarship offer from Maryland, which was the first written offer he has acquired. When Miller got the letter, he said he “was really happy. It was my first offer so I was definitely excited about it.” Since the Maryland offer came, Miller has also received an offer from Central Florida.

The 6'5” 240 pound tight end/defensive end recruit from Holy Cross High School (Delran, NJ) gave a recap of what he did at Maryland's junior day. “I talked to Coach Donovan [running backs coach] who is recruiting me and I got to meet with the head coach one-on-one. I also met with Coach Bankins who's the tight ends coach and my position coach. I met with Coach Franklin for a little while also and talked to him.”

So far, Maryland and Rutgers are the only schools Miller has visited. “We're trying to get to Pitt soon, within the next few weeks. I've been to Rutgers a bunch of times because it's close to my home. I went to watch some spring practices.”

After attending the junior day, Miller came away impressed. “Maryland's definitely in my top three schools. The other two in there are Pitt and Rutgers.” Don't plan on a commitment from Miller anytime soon though. “I don't plan on making a decision until I've visited all the schools I'm seriously considering, so probably not until next year.”
