Spring Practice- 4/13 and 4/15- Offense

TSR's Brian Bradley covered this weeks Spring Practice.

o Da'Rel Scott and Davin Meggett continue to impress Coach Friedgen: “I think that Meggett and Scott are much improved,” he said. “I've been really pleased with what they're doing, I think Meggett is running better, I think Da'Rel is running lower and harder, I think both of them have showed the speed. Meggett has run 4.4 for us, but he doesn't show that on the field, but this spring he's made some plays where he's outrun some guys.”

o During a Tuesday critical situation drill, which threw the defense and offense into a game scenario with four minutes left, Meggett and Scott both scored touchdowns, according to Friedgen.

o Jamarr Robinson did well Thursday, improving upon a much poorer Tuesday performance, Friedgen added. “So far this spring he's exceeded my expectations,” he said. Robinson is “reading coverage so much better than he used to, it's not even close. I'm checking him all the time. [Offensive Coordinator James Franklin] has a lot of progressions where you've got to read the coverage one way or another, [Robinson is] pretty much right on.” Friedgen also noted that Robinson has been taking control and has done well leading the team.

o Robinson and Danny O'Brien are competing to be named the No. 1 quarterback. Friedgen attributed much of Robinson's success in spring practice to O'Brien's strong campaign bid for the starting spot. “Those two are the ones ahead, and then the next one is C.J. Brown,” said Friedgen.
