Georgia Fullback Talks Commitment

Tyler Cierski Becomes the seventh player to commit to Terps.

When Tyler Cierski came to watch Maryland practice on March 18, something stood out for him that he hadn't seen at other schools. “One thing that really stood out to me was when I was at practice, it was really up-tempo and exciting and not humdrum like the other schools I've seen.”

About a month after seeing that Maryland spring practice, Cierski gave his commitment to the Terps. “When I told the coaches that I committed, they were really excited. They welcomed me to the family.”

Maryland was clearly the favorite over the other schools for the 6'1” 240 pound Mill Creek (Hoschton, GA) junior. “I liked everything about it. The campus is a lot nicer than the other schools I was looking at. I really liked the facilities and I really liked the coaching staff.” Other schools Cierski was looking at included Georgia Tech and North Carolina, among others.

Cierski started every game for his 5A Mill Creek team. His sophomore year he had an 80 yard touchdown run, the longest rushing touchdown in school history. He plans on coming back to Maryland this summer. “I'm not sure which camps I'm going to yet, but I'm definitely going to the Maryland camps and probably a few combines.”
