2011 Lineman Gaining Attention

2011 lineman Bernie Sarra has yet to receive an offer, but the recruiting process is heating up.

Greensburg, Penn., offensive lineman Bernie Sarra has yet to receive a scholarship offer, but the recruiting process has heated up.

The Greensburg Central Catholic HS product has been in contact with several schools including Syracuse, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Akron, and Central Michigan. He has also had some contact with Maryland.

“I get a lot of letters from them,” said Sarra. “And I get emails all the time from them.”

Sarra admitted that he is not familiar with Maryland, but he said is definitely interested in the Terps.

Sarra has attended junior days at Pittsburgh, Akron, Bowling Green, and Syracuse. He has also attended a spring practice at Pittsburgh.

The 2011 prospect is looking for a reputable program with good football facilities. Coaching is also a key factor for Sarra.

“I'm looking for the coaches to have a big part in the players' [lives],” said Sarra. “Like a line coach, I think I should have a good relationship with him.”

The 6-foot-2-inch 305-pound lineman admits that he may not be the ideal height to play along a big-time program's offensive line, but his work ethic is one of his strengths.

“I'm a real hard worker. I'm just trying to be the best player I can be,” said Sarra. “I'm real strong, and I have great footwork for a guy my size.”
