Terps Gain New Commitment- Brandon Ross

TSR caught up withe Maryland's newest football commitment, Brandon Ross.

How was the recruiting process?

The process was very busy and kind of stressful but it was a good, new experience.

What schools did you hear from the most?

I heard from Rutgers, Boston College, Maryland and Army the most.

Who did you have offers from?

Army, Delaware State, and Maryland

When did Maryland start recruiting you?

I went down to Maryland’s one-day camp Sunday, and they offered me there and I accepted it on the same day.

Was that the first time you had been to College Park?

No, I had taken visits down there as a freshman and sophomore, before I was being considered as a possible recruit.

What was it about College Park that excited you?

It is a big beautiful suburban campus. That attracted me from the start. It’s a place where I could see myself living the college life for the next four years.

What coach did you hear from the most?

Well I was in close contact with Coach Donavan, the running back and recruiting coordinator.

How often did you guys talk?

Well, through the recruiting process during the school year I tried to make it a habit to update him once a month when I had the opportunity.

What were your stats from last season?

I had 1,100 yards rushing and 13 touchdowns on 179 attempts. I had one receiving touchdown.

How would you describe yourself as a player?

I would describe myself as a physical player with good speed, acceleration, and size. I feel I am very versatile.

Is there a college or pro player that you would compare yourself to?

If there were any player I could compare myself to the best it would probably be Brian Westbrook, the former Philadelphia Eagle. Westbrook was a running back who was good catching the ball out of the backfield as well as he was running in between the tackles. I feel that I imitate that style of play.
