Caffey Still A Ways Away From A Decision

2011 prospect catches up with TSR about the recruiting process.

With the Terps beginning to recruits more and more football players out of the Southeast, Maryland is bound to bump into more ACC and SEC schools competing for the same athletes.

Marcus Caffey’s recruitment is no different. The Terps are one of at least eight schools to give Caffey a scholarship offer, including ACC-competitors Wake Forest and Clemson as well as SEC contenders Arkansas and South Carolina. “Everybody’s even at this point,” Caffey said.

A running back with a balance of size and speed for Grady High School in Atlanta, Ga., Caffey “hopes to visit Maryland in the fall.” Since he has yet to put together a top five or any real rankings for schools, Caffey has not visited any other colleges. “I want to get to talk with more of their coaches before I narrow it down,” Caffey said.

With Da’Rel Scott graduating and Caleb Porzel transferring, the Terps could certainly use another running back to shoulder the load. “I’m not really sure what I want yet,” Caffey said. “I’m still going through the process of figuring things out, but Maryland’s definitely in there.”
