Heter Impressed With Terps

After attending camp at College Park this summer, Heter likes Terps.

2011 Montour High School senior offensive linemen Austin Heter has been having a hectic summer with the start of his senior year, football camps, and his wisdom teeth.

Heter recently had his wisdom teeth pulled, but earlier attended camps at Pittsburgh, West Virginia, and Maryland this summer. He said, “all of them were top notch and very impressive.”

He has been training hard to prepare himself for a college team. “I’ve been working on my speed. We have speed work outs before practice and then we lift right after,” he said. He enjoys taking little breaks between work outs.

Despite dealing with the local traffic and arriving late to the Maryland camp, Heter really enjoyed his days at College Park. Making it there in time for warm ups, he participated in the drills and stations, but he really enjoyed the day after the football work.

“It was a lot more in depth than my first one, we went inside the buildings, and we saw more of the campus,” he said. “It’s really nice up there.”

Maryland has intentions for Heter to play left tackle, where he has played in high school. However, Heter also has offers from Bowling Green and Toledo.

“My plan as of right now is to first see how my senior year goes, and if any other offers come my way, and then I plan on going on my official visits before I decide,” he said.

When it comes time for Heter to decide, he will factor in, “campus life, the players, and if [he] like the place.”
