Florida LB has early offers

Cortavious Givens is a talented two-way player from Admiral Farragut High in St. Petersburg, and Scout caught up with him to discuss the latest.

Cortavious Givens is a very good two-way player who put together a strong junior season after suffering a torn ACL as a sophomore.

At 5-foot-11 and 200 pounds, Givens finished the season with around 200 yards of offense and four touchdowns. It's on defense where he made his biggest mark, however, and where he'll likely play at the college level. He's already being recruited.

"Florida State, USF, UMass, and Miami are my top schools," Givens said. "My favorite is Florida State. I just love the way they play."

Givens has an offer from one of those four schools, in addition to one other. He talked about those and what will be important to him.

"My offers are from UMass and Virginia," he said. "What's going to be important is the family atmosphere of the school, the relationships I build with the coaches, and how bad did they want me," he said.

Stay on Scout for more coverage of Givens in the coming weeks as spring football draws near.
