Q & A with Phil Nolan

It's common knowledge that the University of Memphis staff has Tony Parker, Jarnell Stokes, and Shaq Goodwin in its sights. But, if two of the three don't end up at Memphis, the Tigers could shift their focus to Huntington Prep forward, Phil Nolan. TigerAuthority.com spoke with Nolan Sunday.

TigerAuthority.com: So, Phil, who's offered you this summer?
Nolan: "Arizona, Maryland, Missouri, Oklahoma, and some others I can't think of right now."

TA: It was reported that Memphis offered you last month. Is that true?
Nolan: "I'm not sure if they offered me. Coach Pastner called and let me know that he's very interested in me, though."

TA: Are you interested in Memphis even though they haven't offered yet?
Nolan: "Definitely. I actually called (U of M coach Josh) Pastner a couple days ago and just let him know that we were really interested in him."

TA: What'd he say to that?
Nolan: "He basically said just keep Memphis high and that they were very interested in me."

TA: Do you have a top five or so, and if not, when did you want to kind of narrow it down?
Nolan: "It just started to get serious like a week ago. My family and I started talking about it like a week ago. I'm just trying to figure out a top five and stuff, and it's going in all kinds of directions."

TA: When it's time to make a decision, what's important for you?
Nolan: "I want to have a relationship with the head coach. I'm not looking for any promises, but I want to be in a situation where I know I'll be able to get minutes my freshman year. That's pretty much it."
