Mays still viewing options

Whitehaven offensive lineman Tony Mays has stood back and watched the last few weeks as his some of his peers in Memphis have committed to play for the University of Memphis. He told Wednesday night he's content with spectating for now.

Whitehaven offensive lineman Tony Mays isn't quite ready to join the revolution at the University of Memphis.

In the last several weeks, Memphis has landed big-time commitments from high schools all over the city. Still, Mays told Wednesday night he's not quite convinced.

"Nothing has changed in my recruitment," said Mays, who holds offers from Memphis, Arkansas State, Western Kentucky and Southern Miss. "I'm still viewing my options."

The 6-foot-5, 253-pound lineman did, however, speak with Memphis linebackers coach Galen Scott on Tuesday night.

Twitter Widgets It's clear that Mays and the Memphis staff are keeping close contact. Whether that translates into a commitment from the hometown prospect remains to be seen.
