U of M non-conference schedule released

The University of Memphis Wednesday morning released its 2011-12 non-conference schedule, which features road contests against Georgetown and Louisville.

The Tigers open the season at home Nov. 15 at FedExForum against the Belmont Bruins, who won 30 games last season and return their top five scorers, including former Germantown guard and Memphis native Ian Clark.

The Tigers will participate in the Maui Invitational, a field that features Michigan, Duke, UCLA, Kansas, Georgetown, and Tennessee.

The U of M's non-conference slate also includes home games against Tennessee and Xavier.

The Tigers open Conference USA play on the road Jan. 7 against last year's regular-season champion UAB.

Times for all games will be released at a later date.
