Memphis makes cut for Freeman

Allerik Freeman cut his list Thursday to ten schools.

As reported in its premium forums last week, the University of Memphis made the cut.

Freeman's final ten schools are as follows: Florida, Villanova, South Carolina, Texas, Kansas, Kansas State, North Carolina, NC State, Marquette, Georgetown, and Memphis.

Earlier this month, Freeman told he's been a fan of the Tigers for a while.

"I always used to love Memphis when (former Memphis coach John) Calipari was there," the 6-foot-4 guard said. "Coach Pastner's teams still play very similar and it's a similar style of coaching, dribble drive and letting the guards go and just be creators out there.

"That's what I like to do on the court. From watching them play, it seems like Pastner lets them do that. That's one thing I really like about Memphis, and I would love to play that style."

Freeman said earlier this month he'd narrow his list to five in the spring.

"You just have to go to the place that best suits you as a basketball player and person," Freeman said. "If that means going all the way out to Wyoming, that's what will be best for me to do."
