Instead, he'll be heading to Colorado Springs, Colo., to try out for the USA U17 team.
"I'm just going in there to try my best and play hard and tough," Williams III said. "I've just got to keep God first."
Williams III said he's not upset about having to miss the "Madness" events this year.
"It's not that of a big deal not to go to anybody's Madness, because I'm not making a decision until next year," Williams III said.
Williams III won a gold medal this summer with the U16 team in Cancun. He said the entire experience has made him better as a player.
"I get to see how other players work hard and go hard," he said. "Just being around other great players, it's a great environment. You can learn things from different players."
Going into his junior season at Southwind, he said the main things he‘s working on are his ball-handling and shooting ability.
