"There‘s no big schools on it like I wanted, but I can‘t do anything but keep playing hard," Thompson said.
He said there's no particular order.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding the U of M football program, Thompson said he hasn't really thought about the situation.
"Memphis calls me every once in a while, and we talk," Thompson said. "I want to come up there and watch a game. Transportation isn't that easy. I haven't thought about it that much."
Being just a few hours away from Memphis, Thompson has visited the city on more than one occasion.
"I like the town, I've been there before. It's a live town," Thompson said. "I haven't seen the campus yet. I like the coaches."
Thompson also praised the Southern Miss coaching staff.
"They've been recruiting me from the get-go," Thompson said. "I like them. They're a pretty good coaching staff."
Thompson said he'd like to take official visits to each school on his list before deciding but added that he had none scheduled at this point.
He said he's not in any hurry to make a decision but when he does choose a school, playing time will be most important.
"I'm looking for a team that'll get me in early," Thompson said. "I want to help a team. I want to use my ability to help a team out, one that'll throw the ball.
"It's also got to be a nice school, atmosphere, have a nice education. A school that'll get me where I need to go."
