Three Tigers earn C-USA honors

University of Memphis guard Will Barton can add another preseason accolade to his arsenal: being selected for the preseason Conference USA first team.

Barton, who along with 49 others last week was named to the preseason Wooden Award watch list, was one of six players selected for C-USA first team.

The awards, voted on by C-USA coaches, were announced Monday.

Barton led the Tigers in scoring last season at 12.3 points per game.

Point guard Joe Jackson, who also made the Wooden watch list, and power forward Tarik Black were both named to the C-USA second team.

UAB senior forward Cameron Moore was named the preseason C-USA Player of the Year.
