One of Memphis' most valuable assets will never take the court for the Tigers this season or any other: Frank Matrisciano.

Part of the TigerAuthority.com Memphis Tigers 2011-12 season preview<> One of Memphis' most valuable assets will never take the court for the Tigers this season or any other: Frank Matrisciano.

And don't you dare call him a strength coach.

Matrisciano, whose official title is "Life Changer," joined the program in the offseason and he's already made a palpable impact. Sophomore forward Tarik Black dropped 22 pounds over the summer and is now a chiseled 240 pounds. Because of Matrisciano's intense regimen, literally each player on the roster has improved his strength and agility.

Before coming to Memphis, Matrisciano was revered in the NBA landscape for his work with Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin and other pro superstars.

His work will undoubtedly be on display every night the Tigers take the floor. The Tigers will be one of the best-conditioned teams in the country, and any team that attempts to run with Memphis will likely find itself on the losing side of things.
