Cranston Jones, a defensive back from West Mesquite High in Mesquite, Texas, has received mail from the University of Memphis recently.

He has offers from Louisiana-Monroe, Northwestern State, Louisiana and Sam Houston State. Jones said he has a good idea of what he wants to do but plans to wait it out just in case.

"I kind of want to take all my visits and then the Monday after I take my last visit, I'll probably know where I want to go then," Jones said. "I'm not rushing or anything, I just wanted to exhaust all my options."

He said he has official visits set up with Sam Houston State on Jan. 13 and Louisiana-Monroe on Jan. 20.

Being from Texas, Jones would like to hear from the bigger in-state schools. However, most head coaches in the state tell him that, at 5-foot-9, he's too short to play cornerback.

"They like me but the coaches say I'm too small," Jones said. "I can't really say anything. I don't like it of course, but I can't really say anything about it."

Jones is ranked a 2-star cornerback by Scout and is the No. 131-rated DB in the 2012 class.
