On Saturday, the University of Memphis registered a 20-point win over Marshall that kept them in first place atop Conference USA. Shortly after, Memphis coach Josh Pastner extended an offer to Gill St. Bernard (NJ) junior guard Jaren Sina.

When Sina first started hearing from the Tigers, they were still in C-USA and looked to be stuck there. Now that Memphis will move to the Big East in 2013, however, Sina's interest in the program has been piqued.

"That has a huge impact on my decision," Sina told TigerAuthority.com. "It's a great opportunity to play at such a high level in such a great conference."

Sina, rated a 4-star guard by Scout, said he'd like to take an unofficial visit to Memphis in the spring, though he said nothing is set in stone.

Playing in the Big East would give Sina an opportunity to return to the northeastern part of the United States once, if not twice, a year, which "would be one of the benefits of playing" in the conference, Sina said.

Sina, a 6-foot-3 point guard, had originally committed to play for Alabama before de-committing after last summer.
