2014 Guard takes unofficial visit to Memphis

An AAU Tournament held in Memphis this past weekend had talent from all across the nation in the Bluff City. One Illinois 2014 Point Guard took time to take an unofficial visit to the University of Memphis. Go "Inside" to get the latest on Larry Austin's recruitment.

This weekend ended up being big for the city of Memphis and especially big for the University of Memphis College Basketball program.

A big AAU Tournament held in Memphis brought in talent from all over the country, allowing several high school stars time to take unofficial visits to the Memphis campus this past weekend.

2014 Guard Larry Austin from Springfield Illinois confirmed with TigerAuthority.com that he indeed made a visit to Memphis.

"I liked what I saw," Austin said. "I got a chance to visit with their coaches, they are impressive."

Austin currently has offers from Memphis, Illinois, Mizzou, DePaul and Bradley.

"Right now I'm keeping my options open," Austin said. "It makes me feel good that I'm the only point guard that Memphis has offered so far in the 2014 Class. It means a lot to me."

Austin got a chance to see the Memphis practice facility and got a chance to talk to the Tiger's coaching staff.

"They are great coaches," Austin said. "I like Coach (Josh) Pastner a lot. He shared with me his expectations for his program. He is really a nice guy and seems to be a really good coach."
